Saint Patrick’s Day Breaks in the Forest of Dean 2020

Saint Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of Irish culture on or around March 17. It particularly remembers St Patrick, one of Ireland’s patron saints, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century.

March 17th is a long-anticipated date in the calendar for millions of people. Not just the Irish, oh no! New York, Liverpool, Dublin Perth and a thousand other cities hold Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations.

Even the British Army have Saint Patricks Day parades. Regiments such as The Irish Guards parade with Shamrock presented to them by a member of the Royal Family. They are then given the rest of the day off.

No matter where you go, you won’t be too far from an Irishman of some shade of green and, you can bet, it will be a great day.
